Dr. Kaitlyn J. Popp

Dr. Popp completed her Bachelor's of Arts in English from the University of Iowa in 2009 along with a Minor in Dance and Mass Communications.  After working for three years at the State of Illinois Appellate Court, she decided to return to school to pursue her passion for natural medicine.  Being a dancer all her life, she recognized the importance of taking care of her body, both inside and out.  Dr. Popp went on to complete her Doctorate in Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences. During this time, Dr. Popp maintained a part-time job in a Chiropractic/Functional Medicine office to gain more experience.  She received hands on training both at school and while working.  She also completed over 400 hours of continuing education credits prior to graduating.

Her focus was initially on rehabilitation where she completed all the courses necessary to get her Diplomat in Clinical Rehabilitation.  Dr. Popp was the Assistant Chairman at the Midwest Rehabilitation Institute, helping to jump-start the new business.  At this time, she also became a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Performance Enhancement Specialist, instructing athletes on how to move properly to prevent injuries. Her favorite type of rehabilitation, however, is Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS).  DNS focuses on the human developmental process and the neural connections made during major developmental milestones of one's life.

After years of hands on experience, Dr. Popp began recognizing patterns in patients and in herself who had injuries that wouldn't heal.  Because of this, she shifted her focus to Functional Medicine and Acupuncture after realizing that pain isn't always mechanical.  Chronic issues often stem from inside the body.  They can be classified as chemical, caused by food intolerances or environmental toxins, or they can be psycho-emotional, where past traumas have yet to be processed.  Dr. Popp recognizes the importance of integrating different methods of therapy to treat the whole person and not just the symptom.  She has a holistic approach to chiropractic with an emphasis on nutrition, neurology, acupuncture, and rehabilitation.

Dr. Popp recently moved here from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL.  She enjoys the outdoors and the adventures that Denver provides.  Her interests include hiking, camping, skiing, long walks with her dog, cross-training and yoga.  She is excited to work with like-minded practitioners at Highlands Health & Wellness to provide well-rounded care for the community.
